Enough bitter news my dear people, let’s talk about something that warms the heart.
Harry Scott first began going to the branch to help him tackle loneliness following the death of his beloved wife
Kind-hearted McDonald’s staff threw a surprise 93rd birthday party for one of their most loyal customers who first began visiting them after his wife passed away.
Harry Scott first started going to the restaurant in Wokington, Cumbria, in 2013, after struggling to cope with the loss of his wife four years earlier.
He quickly made many friends and ended up going to the branch every day of the week, except Sunday, where he would eat a Happy Meal.
The pensioner, from High Harrington, goes to the restaurant every afternoon and evening and even has his own table, but he was clearly stunned when he walked in for his regular meal this week to find staff had organised a birthday party for him.
Banners and balloons had been put up and staff had also chipped in to buy him whiskey and shortbread.
The 93-year-old was also told he could have his usual Happy Meal for free.
“The kids who come in here are mine as I don’t have any of my own. It’s company for me.”
Jack Holliday, crew member, said: “He’s a one-off. We get regular customers but he’s one that stands out.
“He’s bubbly and full of life, especially for a 93-year-old.”
